May Part 2

Okay, part 2 of our May adventures took us to Glen Ellyn to visit the Whites. This was the first time all of the White family was in the same place at the same time!  Here are a few pics of our activities.

A successful sewing project...burp cloths!!

Auntie Em, Mike, and Asher at Arlington. Asher tried betting, but we lost.

Daddy and Asher at Arlington

Mama and Asher at Arlington.

Asher was too cool for the races.  He just enjoyed the day napping.

Glen Ellyn wore him out.  He was zonked out the whole car ride home.

Uncle Danimal teaching Asher how to play video games.

The White Family! From left to right: Yoshi,Auntie Em, Uncle Danimal, Grandma Sally (Sarah), Asher, Aunt Dorrie, Grandfather Sir (Tom), Daddy and Mama.

Asher meeting Deb for the first time.  Notice Rex is right there making sure Asher is okay.

Deb is practicing her Grandmother skills for her grandbaby expected in June.

On a walk with the family. Uncle Danimal was such a great pusher, Asher slept the whole time.

Going out for dinner in the Pilot.  It was a full car!

Aunt Dorrie and Grandma Sally hanging out with Asher.

Grandma Sally loves it when Asher gets fussy because she can put her Grandma skills to work.  See how happy she is?  It was nice to have a break. :)

Asher crashed on the couch.

Avenger diaper cover.  It was a project for Grandma Sally and I....and it was a fail.  We will try again though.  We made with while the rest of the family was at Avengers the movie.

The month of May Part 1

So much excitement the past few weeks.  We have experienced our first Mother's Day, first bath, first road trip to Iowa, first date, and Asher met so many people(Gramma's work friends,
Uncle Paul and Aunt Robin, Sarah, Abby, Larry and Mrs. Wylie!  Mike and I were able to sleep in and do so many activities because we had a full house to take care of Asher. Here is a photo timeline of our latest events.
I would like to submit this to Gerber as the next Gerber baby. :)

Aunt Missy did such a great job this weekend.  She is really getting in good practice for when her and Uncle Jon have their own.

Asher wanted to drive, but we said no.  He threw a big fit when he found out he wasn't allowed to drive.

Good morning Daddy.

My birthday started with snuggle time in bed with the whole family.

My first Mother's Day.  I love being a Mama!!

First real bath....at 6 weeks.  That is how long it took for the umbilical cord stump to fall off.  Asher wasn't happy or sad, he was just not quite sure what to think.  These are way more fun to give than a sponge bath

Meeting Nanna for the first time.

3 generations!!

Nanna, Gramma, Mama, and Asher - 4 generations!

Getting situated.

It was hard getting a full family photo as you can tell.  Nanna was worried about the wind in Asher's face.  Right as the timer on the camera would start to go off, she would be covering his face or checking to make sure he is okay.

The best one!!  Ages 7 weeks to 80+!!  What a great looking family.  I can't wait to get a full family photo with Mike's side.

Meeting Laura for the first time.  I was worried she might try to take Asher home like Aunt Missy wanted to. She didn't but she did snuggle for a really long time with him. :)

Now we are off to Chicago to make our second major road trip. Hopefully it is as successful as this one was.

Everytime you smile, I smile

This week has been a week full of smiles and giggles.  We don't know for sure what makes him smile.  We think it is one thing, but then it changes to something else.  We'll keep working on it. This is the best smile pic we have so far.

These are a few short videos I have taken.

A little tummy time...more like side time. :)

Look at my new trick! My legs are sooooo strong!

The many faces of Asher. You might even catch a small smile too.

Asher is 1 month old

A letter to my son:

Dear Asher,
It is hard to believe that one month has gone by already.  A lot of changed this past month, but I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.  You are a true blessing in my life and Daddy's too.  I think back to the first day we brought you home. I was nervous I would break you.  You slept a lot and didn't do anything.  Not that I expected you to run circles around me, I just didn't realize how little you would be and how little you would do and how many diapers you would go through.
When we finally had time alone, once all the visitors left (thank you to all of you by the way), I spent the time watching you sleep.  I loved to watch the faces you make as you would dream.
We go for about two walks a day with Rex. You love walks.  If you are fussy, you calm down and fall right to sleep the minute we hit the sidewalk. You and Rex are going to be best buds when you're older.  Rex is a cool dog and is definitely your protector.  He often stands/sits by your side and gets anxious and upset when visitors get too close to you.  He did paw your head once and felt extremely bad about it.  You cried a little but were fine.
Asher, you have always been a great sleeper.  I think we have had only a handful of nights where I didn't get much sleep...and you didn't either.  For the most part you sleep in 3-5 hours stretches at night.  Lately I have fed you right before Daddy and I went to bed, then you woke up once in the night to be fed, and then I fed you when we woke up.  I like this system and I hope it continues. The best part at night is you eat, then you fall right back asleep again.  The way you like sleep makes me think how perfect you are for Daddy and I who also like sleep.
Now you are 1 month old!  You are finally filling out your newborn clothes. YAY! You are still in NB diapers, but I think you will be moving up soon. You have a bit of a belly on you....I love it!  My heart melts when you lock eyes with mine.  This has been a new thing you started this past week.  You used to just look here, there, and everywhere.  Now you look right into my eyes.  You smile and laugh when you are awake.  I am not sure what you are looking at or thinking of, but I like it.  I look forward to when I can make you smile and laugh. Your hair is still adorable - not quite a fohawk like it was in the beginning because it is getting long.  With that being said, I love washing your hair in the bath because you get a head full of curls.  I am not sure which parent you got that from, but I hope it stays.
I hope the next month doesn't go by so fast, but if it does, I will have hundreds of pictures to look at and remind me of how little you once were (as I am sure you will grow a lot).  This month there are around 500 pictures of you. Some of them mine, some family, half of them are from your first photo shoot.  I know I won't take that many as time goes on, but you are so photogenic and cute (you get that from me). :)
Daddy and I love you and can't wait to see what you will do next!
                                                              Love,
                                                              Mom

This was 6 days old. I put this in so you could see how much Asher's grown.

Asher is 1 month old!!

He is trying to tell me to stop taking pictures.  This past month we have heard his scream more and know his lungs are nice and healthy.

Aunt Missy gave Asher an outfit for every month.  This was month 1.

He also wore this coming home from the hospital.  I took it because it is the only NB outfit we had....it didn't fit very well did it. :)
