Fall 2017

The fall was full of fun and adventure and change. Mike landed a job in Des Moines at Mercy Hospital. We didn't want to move again, but God showed us his plans are far better than ours. He moved in with Gam Gam October 1 and the rest of us stayed to sell the house. We spent weekends going to Iowa or waiting for Mike to come here. It was tough, but his new job and coworkers were great and made us clearly see why we were meant to move. Ayla started 3 year old preschool and dance. Dance was short lived. About the time Mike left, she quit. It was a tough situation because I could see she liked it but something changed when Daddy left. The kids were great for me during the week (don't get me wrong, it was hard....really hard) and it made weekends with Daddy even more special. Our church friends and neighbors were AMAZING. We could not have made it through the transition without them. And let's talk about family. Holy cow. They say they are happy to do things for us....because they are family, but they didn't have to. Between helping us monetarily, watching kids, letting us live with them, and just praying for us - they were our rocks. Now we can say with happy faces that the game is tied - we have lived with both sets of parents within 3 years. HA
